SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers' price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

463-470

Thrace

455-465

Izmir

455-465

Iskenderun

460-470

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, Turkish steel producers have revised their wire rod prices downwards for their domestic market due to the strengthening of the Turkish lira to 2.66-2.67 against the US dollar. Thus, wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have started to range at $455-470/mt ex-works, decreasing by $8-20/mt week on week. Market sources state that demand for wire rod is very weak in the local Turkish market, and this has also played a role in the decrease of prices.
