Brazilian producers are negotiating wire rod of the mesh grade for export to South American countries in a price range of $630/mt to $660/mt FOB, against $630/mt to $650/mt FOB last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The source mentioned that he is not aware of mesh grade wire rod sales being closed for exports to destinations other than South America.

According to the source, prices are expected to oscillate in the short term, reflecting the recent movements of the BRL/USD exchange rate, with a variation of 11 percent within the last 30 days.

In September, wire rod of the mesh grade was exported from Brazil at an estimated $668/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in July.
