Brazilian producers are negotiating wire rod of the mesh grade for export to Latin American countries in a price range of $570/mt to $580/mt FOB, the same range as last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The source mentioned that a small price increase in the short term is not ruled out, as the demand from Ecuador and Peru remains strong, while the local production remains at low pace.

One blast furnace at ArcelorMittal Tubarao, idled for revamping and expected to restart by mid-October, is now scheduled for restart at the end of this year, the company announced, while a local market source told SteelOrbis that the postponement could be extended to mid-2020.
