The business activity in the wire rod market of Poland has been slow in the past couple of weeks due to seasonal lull. Currently, some of the suppliers are gradually coming back with the offers while some of the import prices decreased overall over the month.

According to sources, the domestic wire rod prices in Poland are at €850-870/mt CPT, while earlier the levels were at €840/mt CPT for SAE 1006 quality. Import offers, however, got more attractive over the month, mainly because the suppliers have been competing for buyers. One ex-Ukraine mill is offering €730/mt DAP while another one is at €750-760/mt DAP. A month ago the offers from Ukraine were at €800-810/mt CPT. Czech Republic decreased its offers by €10-25/mt to €805/mt CPT. Moldova is at €840/mt CPT, slightly higher than the levels of end-July.
