Buyers in Turkey’s Iskenderun region remain among the most active buyers as regards local purchases in the country. This week, 10,000 mt of billet have been booked at $419/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned. Most offers in the area are at $420-425/mt ex-works.

In the import segment, most indications remain at $415-425/mt CFR and up to $430/mt CFR from the large CIS-based mills. Buyers have generally been quiet, waiting to see the new Kardemir sales prices and to gain a clearer picture in the import scrap segment, SteelOrbis understands.

However, some small lots were booked by buyers from the northern region of the country last week. One seller managed to close a number of deals for 31,000 mt in total for November shipment, at $403-405/mt CFR northern Turkey and at $406-408/mt CFR Aliaga, SteelOrbis has learned.
