In a letter to customers late Friday, Nucor announced that it will decrease the price of certain rebar products by $1.00 cwt. ($20/nt or $22/mt), effective immediately.

Products included are sizes #3 – #11, ASTM 615 grade 40 and 60, 20-foot-length rebar.

Nucor said the reduction in price is due to “developments in international markets and recent import offers destined for the United States from Turkey, Japan and other countries.”

Other US domestic rebar mills are expected to follow suit.
