Nucor and SDI boost merchant bar prices by $20/nt

Nucor and Steel Dynamics, Inc. each announced in letters to customers late Tuesday that effective immediately with new orders, transaction prices for merchant bar and structurals will increase by $20/nt ($1.00 cwt. or $22/mt).  Nucor stated that all confirmed orders, as of the close of business on November 5 will be price protected if shipped no later than November 30, while SDI's shipping deadline is set for November 20.
