SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that ex-Turkey merchant bar offers have remained unchanged over the past week. Demand for Turkish merchant bar in the Middle East and North Africa were expected to revive in September. However, in the last seven days cheaper Chinese merchant bar offers to the regions in question have become more plentiful, while raw material prices have softened. Thus, buyers in the Middle East and North Africa have started to ask Turkish merchant bar exporters for discounts.

Export offers from Turkish merchant bar producers are at the following levels:

Product

Price ($/mt)

FOB

Angle

615-630

IPN-UPN

615-630

Flat bar

635-660

IPE

650-675
