Market sources state that demand in Turkey's structural steel export markets has remained at medium levels, while prices have softened slightly as compared to two weeks ago. Structural steel demand on the export side was stronger before the New Year as compared to demand for other long steel products, though no new deals have been concluded after the New Year holiday amid the slackness in the global markets. New ex-Turkey structural steel transactions in the target export destinations of Iraq and Libya are expected to be concluded in the coming days, while demand for Turkish materials on the export side in general is expected to recover.
