Influenced by scrap and billet price increases, the rising trend seen in the Turkish domestic merchant bar market has continued gradually this week. Meanwhile, changes in the $/€ exchange rate have led prices to show fluctuations. As of January 14, merchant bar prices in the Turkish domestic market, depending on size, thickness and region, are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 800-850/mt ($503-535/mt), angles are at TRY 780-850/mt ($491-535/mt), while flat bars and square bars are at TRY 780-850/mt ($491-535/mt) - all prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.
