SteelOrbis has learned that merchant bar offers from steel producers in the Iskenderun region of Turkey to Iraq have softened this week, just like rebar offers from the Iskenderun region to Iraq. Accordingly, producers in the Iskenderun region are offering equal angles to Iraq at $725-735/mt ex-works on actual weight basis and for June shipments.

While demand has generally remained strong in the Iranian market, market sources indicate that economic problems have led to postponement of merchant bar purchases in the north of the country.
