Today, January 13, Turkish domestic wire rod prices have decreased by $5-10/mt week on week on US dollar basis in Thrace and in the Iskenderun region, amid currency fluctuations. Wire rod prices in the Marmara region have remained stable, while wire rod prices in the Izmir region have risen by $10/mt.

Most mills are still offering for late March delivery. “ Firm local wire rod prices, which is a key production cost, causes us to have difficulties when selling welded wire mesh,” one source indicated. As a result, the general sentiment in the market is negative in terms of demand. According to sources, special discounts are applicable for big volumes.
