Turkish wire rod producers have kept their official wire rod prices stable over the past week. The product is available for July-August production. However, special discounts are possible for serious buyers. Sources report that wire rod demand has been better compared to demand in the rebar segment. In the meantime, the issue regarding limited availability of sizes seems to have eased for now.
Most buyers are waiting to gain a clearer picture in the scrap segment. “Kardemir has increased its wire rod price by TRY 90/mt ($9/mt), which seems a positive sign,” a source mentioned. The general mood in the market is mainly negative and wire rod prices are expected to be revised based on the import scrap price trend.
