As of today, January 13, official wire rod prices in Turkey have mostly risen by $5/mt over the past week against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and costlier import scrap. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to have sold wire rod at $580/mt ex-works, while additional discounts are still applicable for serious buyers.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have also risen by $5/mt, to $565-585/mt ex-works.
The general sentiment on the demand side is negative due to the adverse weather conditions.
