Today, February 24, Turkish wire rod producers have raised their domestic list prices by $5-22.5/mt depending on the region over the week. The key reason is the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment and the ongoing currency fluctuations. Turkish mills are offering for April-early May deliveries. According to sources, wire rod supply in Iskenderun region is nowadays limited due to the maintenance works at some mills and ongoing deliveries of previous orders. “Izmir-based mills are trying to keep their wire rod list prices high due to their ongoing export shipments,” a source mentioned. Most wire rod buyers are purchasing only in line with their daily needs and book their orders in advance in order not to face any availability problems in terms of wire rod sizes.
