Today, August 7, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 30-90/mt ($8-16/mt). As a result, 12 mm rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have settled in the range of TRY 3,800-3,880/mt ($448-457/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Turkish mills are expected to open their rebar sales by Monday, August 10.
Marmara region-based mill Icdas has not disclosed any rebar price today either. Most mills in this region are currently offering rebar at TRY 3,818-3,880/mt ($450-457/mt) ex-works.Sources report Icdas’ closure of its sales has created an opportunity for Izmir-based mills.
İzmir Demir Celik(IDC) today opened its rebar sales at TRY 3,850/mt ($454/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 100/mt ($17/mt). Sources report that over 20,000 mt of rebar were traded in the Izmir region at TRY 3,750/mt ($442/mt) ex-works yesterday and that over 10,000 mt of rebar has been traded in the region at TRY 3,800/mt ($448/mt) ex-works today.
In the Iskenderun region, sources report that a small lot of rebar was traded at TRY 3,730/mt ($440/mt) ex-works yesterday.
