Local rebar spot prices in Turkey have moved up in all regions of the country due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Traders and mills in Izmir increased their prices also because billet prices in this region are higher as compared to other regions, while traders in Iskenderun have increased their prices due to lack of availability of certain product sizes.
Today, November 25, Turkish mill Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm rebar prices at TRY 2,492/mt ($433/mt) ex-works, while Izmir Demir Celik has increased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY17/mt (down $1/mt) to TRY 2,475/mt ($430 mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT. Meanwhile, market sources report that Turkish rebar mills are offering discounts of TRY 20-40/mt (including VAT) for serious buyers.
