Today, December 29, spot prices in the local Turkish rebar market have remained unchanged on lira basis in the Karabuk region, while increasing by $6/mt on US dollar basis due to currency fluctuations. In addition, local Turkish rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 30-50/mt in the other regions of Turkey, with minor changes in dollar prices. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 5,570-5,630/mt or $640-647/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Icdas has reduced its rebar price by TRY 40/mt in the local currency to TRY 5,610/mt ($645/mt) ex-works, with just minor changes in the dollar price. Other mills in the Marmara region are currently offering rebar at TRY 5,650-5,740/mt ($650-660/mt) ex-works, down by TRY 55/mt today, with the dollar prices remaining stable.
Some local traders are giving special discount to generate cash flow before the year ends.
