Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by another TRY 30-60/mt today, March 6, and local Turkish traders are trying to generate sales by giving special discounts. Local traders’ current rebar prices are available at $419-430/mt ex-warehouse, down by another $5-9/mt for 12 mm size rebar as the week ends. Sources report some local traders are even offering TRY 2,990-3,000/mt ($416-417/mt) ex-warehouse especially in the Iskenderun and Karabuk regions of Turkey.
While Turkish mills Icdas and Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) have maintained their official rebar sales prices unchanged at TRY 3,300/mt ex-works ($459/mt) and TRY 3,150/mt ($438/mt) ex-works respectively, their prices on US dollar basis have only indicated minor changes. While one of the Iskenderun-based and Izmir-based mills have refrained from offering rebar sales prices as of today, one of the Iskenderun-based mills has closed its rebar sales in the afternoon.
