Prices in the local Turkish rebar market have remained unchanged as compared to Tuesday, April 30. According to market sources, Turkish rebar traders have kept their prices stable amid the weakness of demand resulting from the strengthening of the US dollar against the Turkish lira. While the problems in the Turkish construction sector have been continuing for a long time, both buyers and sellers are cautious about concluding deals as they think that the Turkish lira will continue to depreciate against the US dollar in the coming period.
Today, May 2, Turkish mill Icdas has announced its 12-32 mm rebar prices at TRY 2,881/mt ($483/mt) ex-works, while Izmir Demir Celik has announced a TRY 50/mt fall in its 12-32 mm rebar prices on the same day with its prices now standing at TRY 2,870/mt ($481/mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT.
