Over the past two weeks, Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly cut their official domestic merchant bar prices by TRY 300-450/mt ($24-28/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment, while only in the Izmir and Denizli regions have prices risen in the local currency, up by TRY 25/mt and falling by $16/mt on US dollar basis. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle prices at TRY 22,750/mt ($600/mt) ex-works today, April 10. Additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers and cash payment.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in May or from stocks, depending on the size.
