Turkish merchant bar producers have increased their domestic merchant bar prices by TRY 400-700/mt ($8-15/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and higher production costs, in particular higher import billet prices.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 27,250/mt ($619/mt) ex-works today, March 10.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in April or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most local buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases due to the unclear financial situation in the country and war-related risks.
