Over the past week, Turkish official domestic merchant bar prices have increased by TRY 350-520/mt ($8-14/mt) amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and costlier energy for industrial usage.
One Iskenderun-based mill has raised its official merchant bar price by TRY 350/mt ($8/mt) week on week to TRY 17,000/mt ($618/mt) ex-works.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for late October delivery or from stocks. Most local buyers are evaluating the recent price increase and only purchasing in line with their daily needs. A few re-rollers are also offering their HEA/HEB (550-700 mm, standard) at TRY 23,600/mt ($858/mt) ex-works for delivery in the Karabuk region, SteelOrbis has heard.
