Over the past two weeks, Turkish merchant bar prices have risen by TRY 350-500/mt in the local currency, while they have increased significantly on US dollar basis due to the rapid currency fluctuations and amid stronger scrap and billet prices.
A few re-rollers are today offering HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) at $650-655/mt ex-works, except for Kardemir, SteelOrbis has heard.
Merchant bar re-rollers are mainly offering for late February-March delivery, with limited stock availability from a few re-rollers. Most buyers are finding it difficult to purchase their required sizes due to the limited merchant bar supply and extended delivery terms.
