Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers have kept their official domestic prices stable in the local currency with only a drop of $2/mt on US dollar basis against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 26,000/mt ($605/mt) ex-works, stable in the local currency with a decrease of $2/mt a week ago.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in late January-February or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most local buyers are handling their end year financial reports and are in a wait and see stance.
