Prices in the local Italian rebar market has trended sideways week on week amid quiet activity due to the long Easter holiday weekend, while several European countries, including Italy, will also celebrate Labor Day as a holiday on Wednesday, May 1.

As a result, market activity will remain slack, but the holidays should help local mills keep their prices at €480-490/mt ($538-549/mt) levels.

In the past week, Italian producers' rebar export prices have remained stable at €470-485/mt ($526-543/mt) FOB amid quiet market activity.
