Lebanese rebar market still hesitates to conclude new deals

In the Lebanese rebar market, demand has maintained its previous week's silence due to adverse weather conditions.
 
In the Lebanese long steel market, rebar offers have increased by $20/mt as compared to last week to $720-725/mt ex-works, including five percent VAT.
 
This week, Turkish rebar offers to Lebanon have also indicated an increase, reaching $690-695/mt FOB, for shipments in April, though no transaction has been concluded so far at this price range. In the meantime, ex-CIS rebar offers to the country are at $650/mt CFR, for April shipments. However, Lebanese market sources have told SteelOrbis that buyers in Lebanon still find rebar import offers to be on the high side and so they prefer to maintain a wait-and-see stance.
