As SteelOrbis has heard, in the local Turkish market merchant bar prices depending on size, thickness and region are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 1,300-1,360/mt ($610-638/mt), angles are at TRY 1,300-1,360/mt ($610-638/mt), while flat bars are at TRY 1,350-1,410/mt ($634-662/mt). All prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.

According to market sources, demand is sluggish in the Turkish merchant bar market. However, the rolling mills of Turkish merchant bar producers are working at full capacity, while the producers have completed their billet purchases with Turkish steelmaker Kardemir's domestic billet sales opened on June 17.

Also, it should be considered that some mills may give offers below the above price levels depending on their stocks.
