Latest situation in local Turkish special steel market

Wednesday, 01 June 2016 15:39:26 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Since locally produced wire rod is used as raw material in cold drawing special steel production, cold drawing special steel prices have fallen further during the past week due to the downward movement of wire rod quotations. In the same period, cold drawing free cutting steel prices have increased slightly amid the rises seen in European free cutting steel quotations and due to the closure of the ArcellorMittal plant in Spain.

Meanwhile, in line with the declines seen in both domestic and global billet quotations, prices of hot drawing carbon steel, spring steel and heat treatable steel in Turkey have edged down during the past week.
