During the past two weeks, demand for special steel in the local Turkish market has remained slack. Since locally produced wire rod is used as raw material in cold drawing special steel production, cold drawing special steel prices have mostly edged down slightly in the same period due to the downward movement of wire rod quotations, while prices of cold drawing free cutting steel have remained unchanged in the same period as no new deal has been heard in the market.
Meanwhile, in line with the declines seen in both domestic and global billet quotations, hot drawing carbon steel and spring steel prices in Turkey have fallen during the past two weeks, while domestic hot drawing heat treatable steel prices have remained stable since no new deal has been heard in the Turkish market in the same period.
