According to market sources, due to the significant decrease in domestic scrap prices, rebar prices in Italy have moved down further in the past week. While they were at €490/mt ex-works last week, they are now in the range of €480-490/mt ($547-559/mt) ex-works, even though at least one producer has already closed sales of limited volumes at slightly lower prices. Local rebar demand in Italy is still weak and sources say it is difficult to make predictions about the future trend of the market.
