Domestic rebar prices in Italy are still vulnerable due to low demand. In the past week, prices in the local Italian rebar market have decreased further by an average of €15/mt to €470-490/mt ($545-568/mt) ex-works, while the upper end of the price range is more common. However, according to sources, the fact that local scrap prices have trended sideways this month might prevent further declines in the local Italian rebar market in the coming period. Also, Italian producers are aiming to stop the downtrend and may not be willing to accept selling under a certain price level.
