Domestic rebar prices have continued to decrease in Italy, albeit at a slow pace, over the past few weeks. Compared to two weeks ago, domestic rebar prices have decreased from the previous levels of €470-480/mt to €470/mt ($564/mt), all ex-works, but there are also rumors of lower prices, of around €460/mt ($552/mt).

According to SteelOrbis, some large customers are trying to get even lower prices, but producers are unwilling to grant further reductions. According to sources among producers, demand is weak in the local Italian rebar market, but has not completely halted. Furthermore, producers have low stocks currently. Also according to the producers, despite the lack of demand in the Algerian market, the export markets continue to give more satisfaction, especially in the rest of the EU and in the US.
