Turkish integrated steel mill Kardemir has revised its domestic rebar sales prices on February 18. Accordingly, the producer’s rebar offer prices have increased significantly compared to two weeks ago amid the general uptrend in the steel scrap segment.
Kardemir’s rebar price has increased by TRY 147/mt ($19/mt) to TRY 2,677/mt ($442/mt) ex-works. The offer is valid for 500 mt and above orders, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral. SteelOrbis has learned that Kardemir has sold 11,000 mt of rebar today.
The producer’s US dollar-based price has settled closer to the higher end of the general offer range in Turkey, which is currently set at $430-446/mt ex-works depending on the region. In the meantime, in the spot market some business has been done at $434/mt ex-warehouse in Iskenderun earlier this week.
Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
