Jordanian rebar market still depressed amid tight liquidity

In the Jordanian domestic rebar market this week, medium sized rebar prices are currently standing at the price range of JOD 600-615/mt ($845-867/mt) ex-works, including eight percent VAT, on actual weight basis, for 30 and 45-day deferred payments, decreasing by JOD 15/mt ($21/mt) as compared to last week. However, it is heard that some mills' offers may be below $600/mt ($845/mt) ex-works.

Economic and political uncertainty prevails in the country and rebar demand is currently low. Due to tight liquidity, mills have reduced their prices, but for the same reason buyers are restricting their purchases within the scope of their needs.

In the meantime, no new rebar import offer has been heard lately, again due to low demand.
