Italy’s rebar export prices move down

As compared to two weeks ago, Italian producers' rebar export offers have decreased by an average of €12.5/mt. According to market sources, current offers are mostly at the €460/mt ($520/mt) FOB level for exports by sea (to North Africa and North America). The slight drop in price is attributed to the fact that producers, due to low demand both in the domestic market and in Europe, are trying to obtain large orders abroad. Relief on the export side would enable them to avoid significant cuts in their production.
