SteelOrbis has learned that rebar export offers from Italian producers are at €445/mt ($610/mt) FOB for May production. Compared to last week, this price shows a €10/mt ($14/mt) increase, which is basically tied to the recent scrap price trend.

According to sources, since Italian suppliers have completed their orders for the month of April, it is now the right time to ask for such an increase. At the same time, however, rebar demand is not particularly strong in Algeria and it is early to say whether the new offers will be accepted.

Meanwhile, it is confirmed that in the Italian domestic market mills' rebar prices are at around €445/mt ($610/mt) ex-works.
