According to market sources, Italian rebar producers have sold good volumes to the export markets, namely the US, Canada and Algeria, and are fully booked until the end of February. Sales were made in January at prices in the range of €450-460/mt ($509-520/mt) FOB, while lately some Italian exporters have lifted their offers to €460-470/mt ($520-531/mt) levels. The resumption of sales to Algeria after a long period of muted activity in 2018 is attributed to the fact that the main domestic producer is not offering certain diameters.
