According to market sources, domestic wire rod prices in Italy are higher compared to three weeks ago, due to the ongoing increases in domestic scrap prices and the fact that the EU definitive safeguard measures have strengthened the position of local producers. Domestic drawing quality (SAE1006) wire rod prices in Italy are at €530/mt ($599/mt) delivered to customer, up €15/mt compared to previous levels. At the same time, Italian wire rod producers are offering material to the export markets at a price of €495/mt ($559/mt) FOB.
