Brazilian producers remain negotiating wire rod of the mesh grade for export at $620/mt, FOB conditions, the same reference price over the last three weeks, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The source mentioned that the priority for producers remains focused in the domestic market, where prices currently exceed the equivalent to $1,200/mt, when considered ex-works conditions, full taxes except IPI, sales of the mesh grade product by distributors in small volumes.  Large volumes or direct sales by producers are usually entitled to significant discounts.

In July, Brazil exported 22,600 mt of wire rod, in average at $648/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May, with the mesh grade sold at an estimated $628/mt and the drawing grade at $691/mt, both FOB.
