Greek rebar producers’ export offers have remains stable over the past week at €475/mt ($532/mt) FOB, while demand for Greek rebar in the international markets has been at low levels in the given period. It was thought that Greek rebar producers might experience difficulties in concluding sales to the US due to the competition with Turkish steelmakers after the US decision to lower Section 232 tariffs on Turkish steel imports to 25 percent. However, Turkish steel mills have not concluded rebar sales to the US yet, and, due to lower rebar quotations in the local US rebar market, Greek rebar producers have also failed to make any sales to this destination.
