As of April 24, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their export prices unchanged at $640-650/mt FOB compared to April 17, for May shipment. Most international buyers are in a wait and see stance due to the unclear situation of Strait of Hormuz and new restrictions in the European quota system. Sources report that a few merchant bar re-rollers are offering even slightly above $650/mt FOB, however this price level seems a bit high under the current market conditions.
Meanwhile, the SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $503-530/mt versus $500-535/mt CFR, week on week.
