Over the past week, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers are attempting to keep their export prices stable following the ongoing depreciation of Turkish lira against US dollar and the positive sentiment in the import scrap and billet segment, while a few merchant bar re-rollers are attempting to raise their offer levels. Currently, ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $680-700/mt FOB, rising by $20/mt on the lower end for Late June-July shipment.
The SteelOrbis Turkish billet CFR-based daily reference import price currently stands at $545-560/mt, versus $535-545/mt last week. However, international demand still seems weak and trading activity is slow. A few enquiries are being received from the Balkan region, SteelOrbis has heard.
