Ex-Turkey merchant bar prices fall

Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have decreased their official equal angle export prices by $10/mt to $590-610/mt FOB, for May shipment, amid weaker import scrap and billet prices.

A few merchant bar re-rollers are even offering slightly below $590/mt FOB, depending on the size and the region, for serious buyers only. There are still tonnages available within the EU quota period which began on April 1, while most buyers are exerting pressure for additional discounts.

The SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $455-475/mt CFR, down by $5/mt on the higher end over the past week.

Product Price ($/mt)
Angle 590-610
IPN-UPN 600-620
Flat bar 620-640
IPE 600-620

All prices are on FOB basis for May shipment.
