Local rebar demand has been at medium levels in Romania lately, which has attracted some foreign suppliers.

Offers are mainly coming from neighboring countries, rising by €35-65/mt since March. Suppliers from Hungary are at €605/mt CPT, while rebar offers from Bulgaria are standing at €575-590/mt CPT. In addition, ex-Italy rebar offers to Romania are standing at €595/mt CPT Cluj, but may indicate higher levels starting from next week. “Although demand is moderate and stocks are at medium levels in Romania, some rebar buyers are cautious as regards possible rebar price increases as they may have difficulties in restocking,” a source told SteelOrbis.

Romania’s domestic producers are standing at around €560/mt loaded on truck at Constanta port, excluding 19 percent VAT. Moreover, deformed bar in coils are available at €600/mt with the same terms. The price may vary depending on the order size and payment conditions.
