According to sources, domestic drawing quality wire rod (SAE1006) prices have decreased by €10-20/mt in Italy over the past month to €530/mt ($641/mt) delivered to customer.
While demand is still good in the domestic market, local wire rod producers have had to reduce their prices due to lower local scrap prices, and also to remain competitive against the backdrop of lower import offers, especially from Turkey - with Turkish prices at around $620/mt CFR Italian ports.
