According to sources, in the Italian wire rod market domestic producers are offering drawing quality wire rod (SAE1006) at a price of €550/mt ($671/mt) delivered to customer, for January deliveries. Moreover, they are suggesting they will increase their prices further for February deliveries.
Compared to mid-December, domestic wire rod prices in Italy have increased by at least €20/mt, due to higher scrap prices, good demand, and the lack of competitiveness of import wire rod offers.
