Despite the ongoing weak demand situation, Italian rebar producers have managed to maintain their prices in their domestic market, by trying to ask for a higher price level of €510/mt ($576/mt) ex-works in the past week. According to market sources, such attempts have failed to attract orders, but they have helped to maintain transaction prices in the range of €490-500/mt ($554-565/mt) ex-works range. However, sales are very low even at these price levels due to the uncertain economic situation and negative weather conditions.
