While until one week ago Italian rebar producers were offering material at €525-535/mt ex-works in their domestic market, deals were already characterized by lower prices. Market prices have decreased further in the past week and currently are mostly at €510/mt ($627/mt) ex-works, though there are rumors of even lower prices in the market. According to sources, domestic rebar prices in Italy have decreased due to the softening of local scrap prices this month, and also due to the very low rebar demand in the domestic market.
