According to sources, this week Italian rebar producers have been offering material to the domestic market at prices in the range of €525-535/mt ($651-663/mt) ex-works. However, the few deals that were recorded were at the lower end of the price range due to low demand and the softening of local scrap prices. Meanwhile, rebar availability in Italy is not plentiful, while demand is also weak in the export market as Algerian buyers' stocks are still at high levels.
